Pagsinapol Monument

The Pagsinapol Monument is a 12-meter-tall public art installation located at the Festive Walk Road Roundabout within the Iloilo Business Park (IBP) in Mandurriao, Iloilo City. Unveiled on July 17, 2026 by property developer Megaworld Corporation, it stands as a permanent cultural landmark celebrating the identity and shared spirit of the Ilonggo people. The monument's unveiling commemorated the first anniversary of Iloilo Business Park’s designation as Iloilo City’s official Center of Arts and Culture, offering an abstract, communal piece that focuses on what the community is becoming together.

The piece was created by the design group A.R. Sculptura, led by architect Margarette Albacete-Pampliega and Joseph Carl Albert Pampliega. The word Pagsinapol is derived from the old Hiligaynon term sinapol, which translates to "coming together," "gathering," or "unity". At the peak of the structure stands a bronze woman sculpted in traditional Filipiniana attire, raising a glowing torch to symbolize hope, enlightenment, courage, and progressive leadership. Positioned at the heart of the structure is a traditional paraw (sailboat) representing Iloilo’s rich maritime heritage and its continuous journey toward art, culture, and innovation. A sweeping, illuminated ribbon-like form wraps around the sailboat and rises toward the torch, capturing figures that signify Iloilo’s historical progression and collective imagination.
